Hello Campers and Parents,
I was reading through some Facebook posts the other day and came across the following conversation between a young boy and his mom. “Mommy, that soft rain reminds me of camp meeting” … “Oh do you smell it?” “It smells like camp meeting!”
It is indeed almost camp meeting time. And here in Montana, camp meeting means that it is time to get signed up for Junior Camp. We are looking forward to another great year at Camp Paxson! That means another great year of kayaking, wakeboarding, paddle boarding, water skiing, water toys, archery, basketball, crafts, disc golf, gymnastics, volleyball and more!
All of these things are exciting but Camp Paxson is more than fun classes and activities. It is sharing this fun with friends and meeting new friends. It is getting to know your counselor and eating the great food each day. Even now I can almost taste the coffee cake fresh out of the oven. And we wouldn’t want to forget that trip to the camp store!
If we stopped there however; we would be leaving out what truly makes Camp Paxson great. I believe the one thing that makes Camp Paxson great is the opportunity to get to know Jesus in a better way. From devotions each day in your cabin to morning worships led by our counselors to the evening worship program, we strive to make Jesus the number one priority of camp. Last year was a perfect example of how this impacts our camp. Two of our campers who were planning on getting baptized, chose to wait a while longer, so they could make it happen on Sabbath at Camp Paxson in Seeley Lake!
Camp Paxson has become a very special place and time to me and I would love to see as many of our young people able to be there as possible.
We look forward to seeing you there!
