Processes accounting functions including payroll, church remittances, accounts payable, appropriations and subsidies, performs financial reviews of local churches and schools and provides assistance to church and school treasurers.

Nathan grew up in the Walla Walla Valley and graduated highschool from Upper Columbia Academy in 2002. In 2007 Nathan married Gabriela Baumgartner. Gabi is a massage therapist originally from Peru who was adopted by Adventist missionaries Edwin and Pam Baumgartner when she was 4 years old. Ed was an ADRA director for Peru, Nicaragua, and Haiti before returning to the United States to become a pastor in Texas.
In 2008 Nathan graduated from Walla Walla University with a Bachelors of Business Administration and a concentration in Finance. After graduation Nathan worked for K3 Integrations, a software engineering company, as their only accountant. K3’s primary business was writing web software for the SDA church and various Adventist organizations including the General Conference, Adventist World Radio, Chinese Union Mission, bibleinfo.com, It Is Written, Adventist Media Center (now closed) and many others.
In February of 2012 Nathan became an accountant for St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton, OR and commuted the 50 minute drive from Collage Place, WA. In late November 2014 Gabi and Nathan closed down Gabi’s business and packed up and moved to Bozeman, MT for Nathan to become the Assistant Treasurer / Accountant for the Montana Conference.
Responsible for most accounting functions including payroll; state and federal taxes; accounts payable; accounts receivable; church remittances; remittance of offerings to the union, church and school invoices, statement, and reconciliations; bank and investment reconciliation; and monthly and year end journal entries and adjustments.
Nathan is the point person for many HR functions including new employee hiring, health care, and retirement. Nathan also is the primary person for church treasurers to contact for software support and assistance in helping them complete their monthly remittance of offerings to the conference. New treasurers often need help learning the software and even experienced treasurer often need help with adjustments and fixing problems that are out of the ordinary.
